SohoOS is a small business management platform. It provides useful tools for small business to give them a competitive edge.
SohoOS was founded by Ron Daniel, who functions as its CEO. The app was formed to assist small businesses and freelancers in competing with big enterprises, by offering a platform for them to prosper. In the beginning of 2011 it received funded from Mangrove Capital Partners to help expand its small business management suite.
Free tools for small businesses are provided for effective business management. The site vows to remain free forever.
The dashboard provides an overview of the entire account. Users can access all areas via the banner at the top of the page. Green icons at the right side offer further information when the cursor hovers over them.
The application is very detailed and covers all aspects of small business management including contacts, inventory lists, financial tools, sales campaigns, and report generation based on the data in the account. Users can even create FAQs so that others in the business can view questions and answers.
The interface is relatively easy to navigate and use. The one item that seemed to be missing is the ability to manage permissions and access to sections for other users. It would be a useful component, as not all members of a business need access to all parts of the business site.
Users provide a business name, contact name, email address, and if desired a telephone number for SMS notices. An email is generated indicating that the application is being processed and another email follows with sign in information. User then completes the contact name, industry, website if applicable, email, telephone number, address, city, state, country, and zip code.
SohoOS is free to use. Additional tools and options are available at á la carte pricing. Those options include faxing services, mass email distribution, SMS campaigns, conference calls, and more. Users may deposit money to utilize these services through PayPal. New members are given $5 credit to use.
Small business and freelancers may want to explore the tools on SohoOS. Depending on the business volume, this may help them better manage their businesses.
